The Answer to Mobility
and Everything
The company name 42dot is inspired by the number 42 from a science fiction novel, where it symbolizes “the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything.”
In computer science, the number 42 is also the ASCII code for the asterisk (*). The asterisk functions as a wildcard, capable of matching any character without being confined to a specific value.
We combined the number 42 — symbolizing “the answer to everything,” including human life and technology — with the dot, a minimal expression of the asterisk (*), to embody two core values: inclusiveness and simplicity.
True to the name 42dot, we aspire to define the answer to mobility— and to push beyond its boundaries.
